IQ Leaders Take the Plunge for Burns Victims
IQ Leadership Team Members Daniel Lawrie and Adam Head joined the Central Park Plunge this year to support the Fiona Wood Foundation. The boys abseiled 130m from the top of the Central Park Tower in Perth’s CBD, helping the annual event soar past their target of $330,000 to raise $450,000 for a selection of Charities.
The Fiona Wood Foundation is an independent not-for-profit Led by Professor Fiona Wood. The Foundation’s vision is to deliver scarless healing in mind and body to those who suffer from burn injuries. They exist for current and future patients with the knowledge that every intervention from the point of injury influences the scar worn for life.
This year the Foundation plans to use donations from THE PLUNGE to establish a comprehensive data platform to expand their understanding of burn injuries that span the patient’s journey. Using the biological samples collected from their already established adult and children burns biobank, the platform will enable the Foundation to curate and safely store data sets, including metabolomics, cell profiles, clinical data, and hair analysis.
Additionally, it will facilitate interdisciplinary research and collaboration among burn specialists, surgeons, scientists, and other collaborators, paving the way for impactful research projects in burns and other areas of health.
We are super proud of our team’s ongoing support of worthy causes.
