Demineralisation Plant Life Extension RAM study
Information Quality were engaged to assist Arrow Energy in the specification of functional requirements for the B2 power station water treatment plant life extension project.
Demineralised water is utilised in the gas fired power turbines to boost power output.
An operate phase reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) study was conducted to reflect current plant performance and to identify improved functional requirements to facilitate optimised power output and efficiency.
Information Quality utilised Maros software to develop a holistic model of the plant which was then used to assess production efficiency, including failure data based on company historian, spare parts holding requirements, workforce availability, level of automation and equipment reliability.
The final RAM report was used to inform the functional specification requirements of the new demineralisation plant project.
